TESTING

Prevent bugs with rigorous testing through CPS Tech

The majority of electronic devices have PCBs, and these boards have a significant impact on how well these devices work. Electronics of all types, even if they’re properly designed and meticulously built, are prone to problems.

Many electronics come out of the prototype stage with plenty of bugs and issues for their designers to troubleshoot. In order to prevent this, CPS Tech provides a wide range of electronics testing services. Before being delivered to customers, all PCBs and PCB assemblies are rigorously inspected for any flaws.

A brief overview of our service offering in this category includes:

Flying Probe

This kind of testing is an improvement over the bed of nails test and is less expensive because it doesn’t call for a permanent fixture. The ends of components or unwanted vias can be accessed by a flying probe machine as test sites. The device can be designed to examine the voltage measurements, transistor/diode orientation, and value of passive components.

Automated Optical Inspection (AOI)

Automated optical inspection (AOI) is a machine-based technique used to test and check PCBs for potential errors, such as surface defects, dimensional defects, as well as component placement defects. It makes it easier to detect assembly problems including soldering short circuits, missing or misplaced components, and unconnected components.

In-Circuit Testing (ICT)

In-Circuit Testing is a standard test method to check the PCBA manufacturing defects and poor components by testing the electrical performance and connections of circuit components. This type of testing detects the majority of issues on a board.

Burn-in Testing

Burn-in is the testing of a PCB to detect early failures and establish load capacity. This testing process is intended to outline possible defects by running products at elevated voltage levels, outside standard temperature ranges, and under power cycling conditions. This process enables the detection of components that fail not only because of a physical defect but also because of a more general failure that occurred during assembly.

Micro Section

Micro-sectioning or cross-section analysis is a sample testing procedure, used throughout the PCB fabrication industry. We perform routine micro-sections every day because they provide us the ability to examine the PCB from the inside and take accurate measurements to evaluate our production procedures and the completed PCBs’ quality.

We also offer Tape, Peel, Impedance as well as Ionic Contamination Tests.
